Hailing from Kiambu County in Kenya’s rich central highlands, this juicy new arrival is grown by smallholder farmers and processed at the Gichuka Factorya well-established wet mill run by the Kimaratia Farmers’ Cooperative Society.
At an elevation of 1,800m, with vibrant red volcanic soils and cool mountain air, Gichuka’s cherries mature slowly, developing bright, complex flavours. The meticulous washed process from hand-sorting to fermentation, soaking, and drying on raised beds brings out the coffee’s stunning clarity and sweetness.
With over 700,000 producers (70% of whom are smallholders), Kenya continues to deliver some of the most distinctive coffees in the world and Gichuka is no exception.
