Our Coffee
Coffee is one of the world’s most complex and diverse crops, grown in some of the most remote and beautiful corners of the globe. From seed to cup, every step matters: growing, harvesting, hulling, drying, packing, transporting, roasting, and finally, brewing.
At Crosby Coffee, we’re passionate about building strong, direct trade relationships with producers worldwide. We believe that great coffee begins with respect, for the people who grow it, the communities they live in, and the environment that sustains it.
We’re committed to transparency and accountability throughout our supply chains. By choosing the most sustainable and ethical sourcing routes, we aim to protect the future of every project we work on, while continually working to reduce our impact on the planet.
At Crosby Coffee shops we only use environmentally friendly packaging and disposables, such as; Eco bio-degradable napkins, corn-starch cutlery, Eco Paper straws, kraft paper bags, recyclable coffee cups and re-usable cups.
Sustainability at crosby
Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. From our roastery to our coffee shops, we work hard to minimise our environmental impact and make choices that support a better future.
We donate our waste coffee chaff and grounds to local gardening groups for composting, and we educate our wholesale partners on eco-friendly practices.
We roast on a Loring roaster, which uses up to 80% less energy than traditional machines. This is made possible through a closed-air system and single-burner design that recirculates air and removes the need for a separate afterburner.
We also choose products that align with our values, such as Thirsty Planet water bottles, which support clean water projects
Every small choice adds up and together, they reflect our commitment to sustainability, accountability, and the communities we serve.
Crosby Coffee will comply with all relevant legislation and regulations. The business owner has responsibility for business operations, including acting as the Sustainability Co-ordinator. This includes responsibility for ensuring on going environmental performance, identification of environmental risks, recording and monitoring of impacts and implementing environmental and social sustainability measures. Special consideration will be given to employing and empowering local staff and wherever efficient and environmentally sustainable, products and services will be sourced locally. We will encourage our staff throughout their training and inductions and throughout their working days to present our commitment to environmental and social sustainability to our customers, suppliers, contractors, and agents.
