Recycling Guide
At Crosby Coffee, we are committed to ethical, sustainable coffee from traceable sourcing and community-focused partnerships to reducing waste across our cafés. This recycling guide shows how you can extend that commitment at home by recycling your coffee pods correctly.
In short, yes – most coffee pods are technically recyclable. However, coffee pods cannot go in standard kerbside recycling.
This is because they are too small and made from mixed materials. Most recycling centres use mechanical sorting systems designed for larger items.
Some UK recycling centres participating in Podback recycled over 1.35 million coffee pods in the first year.
| Scheme / Brand | How It Works | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Podback | Drop-off at participating recycling centres | Over 1.35 million pods recycled in year one |
| Nespresso | Return via stores or free post | Aluminium pods only |
| Dolce Gusto | Participating retailers | Check website for locations |
| Local recycling points | Recycle Now or local council | May not accept all pod types |
Recycling your coffee pods is simple and effective. Locate your nearest collection point and make your coffee habit more sustainable.
