Tanzania Kongoni

At the beginning of September, we exhibited at Caffe Culture show and we took along a special coffee that we brought in just for the event. 

This Tanzanian coffee is usually a washed processed coffee, but the producers decided to naturally process a small batch as a one off at the end of the season. 

It was produced on the Kongoni Estate, located on the outer slopes of Ngorongoro Crater. A region with a cooler climate, perfect for a slower development. The quality of Kongoni’s coffee is consistently excellent, as it is all managed within the farm.

The climate, farm biosphere, and Kent varietals result in a dense, hard coffee bean whose acidity, body and delicate berry flavours are the signatures of a top natural East African coffee. Notes of dark cherries, marzipan and almonds with a black pepper finish.

It was a hit at Caffe Culture and although our stock is gone, we will aim to bring this coffee in again next year!
