Since the beginning of lock down, many of us have much more free time to fill. Picking up a new hobby or interest is the perfect way to ease some of the hardships caused by the current situation.
Below are a few hobbies you can pick up without hurting your wallet.
It is a well-known fact that cake makes everything better. It can be cheaper (and tastier) if you make it from scratch. We have several baking recipes to follow here.
You know what’s even better than cake? Coffee and cake. You don’t need an espresso machine to get started either. You can sharpen your skills and get your daily caffeine fix with a V60 or an AeroPress. Follow our online guides for quick and easy tutorials. You can shop for coffee here too.
You don’t need a garden to take up gardening. You can easily start with a windowsill, a pot, compost and a few seeds. It can seem a little intimidating at first, but it will all be worthwhile once you see your plant thrive. If you choose to grow your own vegetables or herbs it may even save you money. P.s you can use your coffee grounds as compost for certain plants. Search our other blogs for more info on how.
4. Learning a new language
You can learn a new language or brush up on an existing one without buying a big chunky textbook. There are many free online resources available such as YouTube, Drops, Memrise and Duolingo.
5. Starting a blog
Writing skills are highly coveted and blogging is a great way to enhance them. You could even earn some money if you’re blog gets enough traffic.
