Micro artisan coffee roastery, Crosby Coffee, has teamed up with Jockey Club Catering creating a speciality bend for this year’s Crabbie’s Grand National at Aintree Racecourse, 7-9 April.
Crosby Coffee’s blend uses a mixture of Brazilian, Ethiopian and Indian coffee beans, to develop a unique coffee drinking experience for racegoers attending the Grand National festival.
Roasted just a couple of miles away from Aintree Racecourse, the Grand National blend took two months to produce, undergoing a series of tastings and trialling’s to create the ultimate flavour. The new blend will be served using traditiona lcafetieres in The Chairman’s area of the racecourse.
Jack Foster, founder of Crosby Coffee, said: “Since starting the business in my mum’s living room in 2014, I’ve been committed to finding the perfect coffee and I can think of no better place than this year’s Grand National to showcase our latest offering.”
Stephen Reed, general manager, northwest region for Jockey Club Catering, commented: “Coffee has become ingrained in the UK’s food and drink culture in recent years and we are delighted that Crosby Coffee will be bringing their own unique blend to the Grand National this year – as well as an additional Scouse touch to proceedings.”
Jockey Club Catering is a joint venture between The Jockey Club, the largest commercial group in British racing, and Compass Group UK & Ireland.
